Trinidad
PowerGen Sees the Light with dbNews
July 2, 2003
Innovalink
is pleased to announce that The Power Generation Company
of Trinidad & Tobago has selected dbNews Business Activity
Monitoring to enhance internal collaboration and communication.
dbNews makes it easy for organizations to automatically
keep employees, customers, and business partners informed
with personalized, relevant, and timely information from
any enterprise database.
Ian
Ramsingh, Systems Administrator at Trinidad PowerGen, worked
with colleagues from other departments to build sixteen
intelligent, automated alerts and communication broadcasts
in dbNews Studio in just one day. These initial communications
will help workers and managers in various departments to
operate more effectively, address items before they become
problems, and keep an eye on how the business is operating.
Some example dbNews publications setup by PowerGen include:
- Alerts
when a Purchase Order, Purchase Requisition, or Work Order
needs to be approved.
- Safety
alert immediately distributed to all workers when a safety/environmental
item is reported.
- Email
messages sent to internal customers when ordered materials
are received.
- Daily
summary of item issue volume (in $) totaled by account
code sent to each site manager.
- Listing
of any Purchase Requisition line items that have been
placed on an Approved or Issued PO sent to requisitioners.
- Other
escalation messages when items are past their due date
or have been in the same status for over 60 days.
PowerGen
anticpates that many other event-driven or scheduled messages
with rich content from enterprise systems such as Kronos
and Platinum Financials will also be automated using dbNews
to improve workgroup productivity and management decision
making.

provided by dbNews, please contact Innovalink
